About MYM101

"A different world cannot be built by indifferent people." Peter Marshall

Background

Our names are Craig Newkirk and Berthann Jones; we are the founders and maintainers of MYM101. We are a married couple with an amazing teenage son/step-son, two dogs, two cats, and a fierce determination to end the financial illiteracy crisis.

MYM101 is the pro bono dba of I&E, LLC, (IandEllc.com), our privately-owned, independent, Financial Education Company. We are the only husband and wife couple in Connecticut who are Certified Financial Planners™ (non-practicing) operating a Financial Literacy organization. I&E funds 100% of MYM101 activities.

We are the founders of the Independent Financial Educators' Network™, a community of like-minded individuals striving to change the world by providing independent, unbiased, financial education to multiple markets.

Prior to the creation of I&E, we owned and ran an independent, fee-only investment/financial planning firm.

We share 55+ years as grizzled veterans of the financial services industry. Along with our prior various corporate and private practice roles, we share 40 years as Certified Financial Planners.

We are the invited instructors of the budgeting class for the annual CT Youth Financial Education Conference held at CT universities and sponsored by the Office of the State Treasurer of Connecticut, Bank of America, and the Junior Achievement/CT Jump$tart Coalition.
