The founders of this website have one goal: To have a personal finance course being taught in every public school in Connecticut, from Kindergarten through High School.
CT has made positive progress towards having personal finance courses in high schools in CT. The CT Department of Education states that 80% of CT high schools offer a voluntary personal finance course. This is a 54% increase from 2006, when only 56% of CT high schools offered these courses. As of May 2010, only 9 of the 174 school districts in CT (5%) have mandated that personal finance must be a requirement for high school graduation. Stated differently, 95% of CT high schools do not require their students to take a personal finance course as a graduation requirement.
